The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has issued a weather advisory forecasting partly cloudy to cloudy conditions accompanied by isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in the Davao Region from September 15 to 16, 2025. According to Pagasa, thunderstorms typically develop in localized areas during the afternoon or evening hours, preceded by relatively fair weather in the mornings.

While sunshine is expected to persist intermittently during the daytime, sudden episodes of heavy rain—often coupled with strong winds and lightning—may occur later in the day. These intense weather events have the potential to cause flash floods and landslides, particularly in vulnerable flood-prone and mountainous zones within Davao del Sur, Davao del Norte, Davao de Oro, Davao Oriental, and Davao Occidental.

Pagasa strongly advised residents living in low-lying areas, near riverbanks, and in landslide-susceptible terrain to remain vigilant and prepare for possible evacuations if needed. Local government units have been prompted to ensure that evacuation centers are readied and accessible to accommodate affected populations.

Despite the risk of sudden storms, authorities encourage utilizing the clearer morning hours for outdoor activities, while staying alert to abrupt weather changes throughout the day. The public is urged to follow official updates and avoid unverified reports to minimize misinformation and prevent public anxiety.
