President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the launch of the TESDA Skills Passport Mobile Application in San Juan City, hailing it as a digital gateway for Filipino workers. The app serves as a centralized platform where users can store verified skills credentials, access training scholarships, and connect directly with employment opportunities.
During the event, the President highlighted the administration's unprecedented financial commitment to human capital, noting that more than PHP 1 trillion has been allocated to the education sector this year. Of this, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) received nearly PHP 20 billion for 2026, its largest budget in history.
The app integrates with the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) and utilizes blockchain technology to ensure the security of credentials. In his speech, Marcos emphasized that because this application utilizes the latest digital technology, it will inevitably solve the mismatch between jobseekers' skills and industry demands. He further urged the public to embrace the platform, stating that everyone in the venue was enthusiastic about the launch, which clearly indicates that the entire Filipino workforce is ready to transition to this digital system immediately.
The TESDA Skills Passport is available for download starting today, promising a lifetime validity for stored credentials.
